It has been a long while since I last blogged. Well I had been busy busy busy. August and September had been a hectic time for me. I was busy cramming for my Shark test and also for a practical test. Thank GOD I scored quite high for both tests. Than came sailings and other stuff so cannot mention to much wait will have people knocking my door.
We started to shift out of Annebo from the 4th Sep. I slowly shifted all the boxes first and on the 6th Sep I rented a small truck and with the help of few of my friends we shifted the bulky items to Polhemsgatan.
Channu and I are truly blessed. God has given some very helpful friends or rather family. They have been a pillar of support to us since the very beginning.
Emily has brought channu for her medicals brought channu for walks in the evening taught channu how to knit. Emily has been a blessing to us. She cooked for me dinner when we were in the hospital. Just to not let channu cook Emily cooked for channu and even came over to spend time with channu. Fayvier has cooked many meals for channu and most importantly prayed for channu to conceive. She gave us so many books which helped us better prepare ourselves for our new adventure into parenthood. They were always checked on channu when I was out at sea. I never once thought I could sail without worrying. They changed this thought completely. Everyday they would drop by our invite channu over and keep her company. Victoria shared her experience of giving birth in Sweden. She gave us her babies clothing because it is believed that a new born should go back home in old clothing. She also ordered for channu DHA formulated milk for pregnant woman and lend us her pregnancy book. I was so touched when she and her hubby took time to drop by at the hospital to pray for us…..man they are goooooooooooooooooooooooood. She even offered to cook us meals. WOW…………..GODS BLESSING IS OVERTAKING US.
The list just goes on serene brought channu for appointment, Catherine cooked for channu……..wow the all this people we just got to know yet they have done so much for channu. I thank GOD once again for friends who have made a positive change in our lives.
Neo and the sonar guys were awesome man…….they helped me shift out of Annebo…… unpack a lil and Kok Poh ensured the working party was ready for deployment on a rainy Saturday morning.
After shifting out and setting up our new apartment we went to IKEA to buy some stuff for babies’ room. I just want baby to have his own room. Well this is something I did not have when I was young.
The bottom line is I wanna thank GOD for BLESSING us with friends who stood by us.

Only diff is you can let your Barbie doll be the driver, pilot or captain of the vessel…… I would suggest pink, red or blue paint work. Its ok with me baby I will love the same whether you are a girl or boy…. You are a GIFT FROM GOD….. muacks.
OK love daddy’s got to go for now…. You take care and rest well………
Love you loads

A POEM FOR DADDY
Author: Baby
I won't be long now daddy
Only four more months to go
You listen to mummy's tummy
And see how much i grow
And see how much i grow
You have two little pictures
So you can see I'm really here
I can't wait to spend some time with you
And bring your life some cheer
And ten little toes
Two little eyes
And a cute little nose
I can't wait to meet you
I know we both will have fun
I want a cuddle from my daddy
Show me life can be fun
I hold out my hand to you
Look into my eyes
Mummy loves you daddy
I will tell you no lies
I know my mummy loves you
With every breath she takes
It’s with only you
It’s with only you
That “me” decided to be made

THE GOOD OL' DAYS
Baby, daddy’s life was pretty much normal since then. I must say I do feel very blessed with the way my LIFE has been. Let’s just say GOD has been watching over dad all his life. There have been countless occasions; when everything seemed bleak and impossible to manage. Fortunately, I always managed to get things sorted out and get back on track. I strongly believe that all these were divine interventions. It can be as simple as saying the right thing at the right time, meeting someone important and making that first impression, to going for a selection board. I always feel I am being watched over and guided. I had my most valuable lesson when I was in primary one. That is GOD IS LOVE.
I think its appropriate now to talk about daddy’s time in school.

ACPS, “THE BEST IS YET TO BE”. I will never forget this motto as it has followed me throughout my life. The time spent in ACPS had a positive effect on me. It is a Methodist school and we had assembly which included singing hymns and bible stories. I was used to this as pre-school was similar. I loved to go to school as I had lots of company. My friends made life in school magical. I had a few cousins in the same class and one, two years my senior.
The year I joined ACPS, the school was celebrating its 100th year anniversary. I remember getting a school cap and a yellow t-shirt with the 100th year thingy printed on it. The thing about ACPS is its location. The school was in Coleman Street, just beside the Registry of Marriages and Fort Canning Park. Everyday during class I used to get distracted as I looked outside my classroom window. There I could see squirrels, colourful birds and different types of insects. I think living in a flat deprived me of all this sights and sounds. I have always loved nature as it constantly reminded me of how powerful and creative GOD is. I used to get reprimanded for day dreaming in class. I couldn’t help but admire the things I was hearing and seeing. However, I did pay attention most of the time, if not how to pass exams rite? So dun get the wrong impression ok………………!
There was always something new to discover and everyday in school was an adventure by itself. I used to catch tadpoles, spiders, small tree lizards and stuff like that. My friends and I used to go on our own nature walks in Fort canning park. We used to play “police & thief” and thereafter play soccer. I had a friend Thanesh, who was very good in soccer. He had very good ball sense and control. Unfortunately, he injured his right knee while playing soccer at the park. There was a gapping hole on his knee and I could see a hole on his knee cap that marked the end of soccer for him.
When one is young nothing really matters, you have no fear and everything seems harmless. Daddy too had his fair share of injuries. Most of the injuries were due to soccer, I don’t know why but no matter how painful it might have been, as long as the game was not over I didn’t really feel the pain. The pain came after the game when the adrenaline had gone down and the muscles started to relax…….ahhhhhhhhh that’s when the pain set in. At times when I look at the injuries I would wonder where all the pain had gone during the game. I guess pain and how we react to it, is controlled my our own mind.
Well time did pass by fast and before I knew it, I was in pri.6. Daddy was very weak in mathematics back then. Since PSLE was round the corner I started having tuition for mathematics. Every other day I had tuition and I was full of confidence that I could undoubtly clear my maths paper. The day came for the collection of the PSLE results. When I received my results I immediately folded the result sheet into half. I then slowly slid down the paper to reveal each result.
English A
Tamil A
Science B (I had given up this paper,surprisingly I managed to get a B)
Mathematics F (oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh man! Wat da @#$#)
I couldn’t believe I had flunked my maths paper…. I was hoping for a B at least….. if only I had gotten B I would have gone to ACSS. Too bad what’s done cannot be undone. I just accepted it and went to Boon Lay Sec Sch the following year……….
Although I did not do as well as I had expected for my PSLE, I knew that the failure was nothing more than a stepping stone. The experiences that I got from my time in Pri. Sch gave me the foundation that I needed to embark on a new adventure in life….. Life as a teenager in my very own neighbourhood school…… and….
Sorry kiddo that’s another story for another day…… Its half past 2 in the wee hours of the morning…Z monster in chasing me got to tuck in soon

IN THE BEGINNING
On 24th May 1979, 1152am. A cute and adorable baby boy was born into this world. Unsure of what lay ahead of him with only his mum to care for him, he embarked on a journey called LIFE. Well I have 2 siblings, one elder sister Angelin Sheila born 25th Aug 1974 and one elder brother Steve Vijay born 1st Jan 1976.
They are the best siblings in the world. I remember all the time we spent together and all the trouble we got into. Most vividly remembered are the spankings we used to get from our granny and mummy.........ha ha ha ha ha ha h ah ah ha. We used to stay in our granny’s place in Blk 120 Teman Jurong #10-??? Anyways, it was a 3 room flat. In the flat we had my fathers elder bro "pariapa"....his wife and daughter staying there. My fathers’ youngest bro Mr. Policeman...... "chitampa" ..... My youngest aunt Vasagi "attai". All of us stayed under one roof till some of them moved out. oooooooooops I almost forgot my great grandma too lived there.
It was a crowded house at one point of time. I loved it then, all of us together and stuff like that. We used to celebrate our birthdays and diwali and all other festivities together. Life was fun back then. Although life seemed all well and nice, there were times things were not so rosy. As mentioned before dad was having his CCA outside and stuff at home started to turn into a nightmare for mum. I guess she is the only one best fitted to narrate what she went through so I will not speculate...... from what I remember mummy n granny were like two different magnetic poles. They seemed to be attracting each other in a negative way. Almost always mum was getting yelled at and we the kids made things worst by being extremely naughty...hahahahahahahahahaha.............. Vj n I used to mess the whole house up and get our asses whopped. Granny will have her share of whopping us and when mum got back she will kill our sorry butts as well. Fortunately, being the youngest had its perks. I got the least of all the thrashing. Other than that life was good.
Soon came the time when I had to go to kindergarten......man I was tricked in to going to school. Mum told me its fun and I could play all day n stuff like that. I remember bringing my toy to school on my first day. I had a rude shock awaiting me. As soon as my mum left the classroom the teacher asked me to put my toy on the shelf. I asked her why.............oh man u should have seen the look at her..... She looked so angry I almost thought she was going to hit me. Reluctantly I parted with my toy.........Asshole.
However, school wasn't so bad. I started to like school I did my homework and colouring and English and math..... The most interesting part were mandarin lessons. I am an Indian kid, how the hell was I supposed to know any shit about mandarin......... life during mother tongue lessons were hell man. Fortunately, God blessed me with loads of wit at a young and tender age. I was good in English and math, so I offered the gal n guy sitting next to me to help in doing their English and Maths homework while they helped me with Mandarin.....if that didn't work. I used to give them sweets that I got from my bro Vj........ if all this failed then I just hit the boy a lil n got him to sort out my mandarin work....... ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha...................well when the going gets tough, the tough get going.
Mum used to send me to school in the morning. However, I had to come back with a Malay gal. I dun know who she was, all I remember I was afraid of her. After the first time she brought me back home from I school. I memorized the route, so after that day I would run out of school and head for home by myself. Mum hammered the shit out of me.....well that didn't stop me. I carried on coming home by myself so after awhile mum told the gal to quit. yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah my first victory.
I still remember walking back home from school, I was in K1 then. I had to cross the road outside my school. There was a bank in front of my school. All I had to do was walk through all the blocks till I reached blk 120, abt 10 mins walk I guess. All that came to an end when my mum bought a 4-room flat in Blk 546 Jurong West St.42 #03-115 in 1985. This time I had to take a school bus la...too far to walk already....sigh.
It was a much bigger house. We had 5 people living in that house. My mum, my granny (mum’s mum), Sheila, Vijay and me. Well, we were happy living together for a year. One day dad came along and there was a big fight at home. My parents had filed for a divorce and he wanted to take us away. I was in primary one, wow it was such a huge fight that everyone was looking out of their window n into my flat. So malu la........ Anyway after the fight my dad asked each of us kids to follow him. Sheila was the first to leave, she had no choice. She didn't want to make things worst. Vijay followed next. When dad asked me I said NO..... I wanted to stay with mummy. That was the last time I lived under the same roof with my siblings. We got separated forever.
Well shit happens... Life still went on. I was studying in Anglo Chinese Primary School. I enjoyed school as it gave me time to interact and mingle with people. I had lots of friends in school. Although school was tough it kept me going. I wasn’t the brightest kid in school; I managed to pass my exams. I lacked motivation...I had nothing to look forward to. After school I was all alone at home with no one to talk to, just four walls and we had no TV for some time so that didn't help either. I turned to playing soccer with my friends. In school we played during recess, we played when I got back home I used to play with the kids in my hood... I had a care free life. Mum pretty much left me alone to sort things out. She trusted me n I must thank GOD for being there for me. In fact he has always been there for me. When I really needed a dad, he was there for me... He always kept me away from bad company and guided me.
Sheila once told me "Don't do anything that will let people say that kids from a broken family are as screwed up as their parents". Well I still remember those words. I also didn't want anyone to mock my mum for my mistakes. Life did get pretty tough back then...lack of money and attention…fortunately granny was there to straighten things out at home so not so bad la. I admired my granny and she was one person I looked up to. She was a very determined lady; she brought up my mum after her husband died. She worked till the age of 76, before she was fin ally laid to rest at the ripe old age of 78. I miss her the most..... She was not around to witness my wedding.
Time did pass by very fast and the highlight for each year was Christmas... On Christmas Eve dad used to send my sis n bro to my place..... We were together for a brief period...... I would wait for Christmas each year and start counting down from the 26th of Dec....ha ha ha ha....... we will have dinner together...... have relatives and friends come over for lunch and dinner. It was real fun man........I will have so much fun just being with lots of people n playing with my siblings..... well all good things come to an end..... my dad will come back the next day to fetch my sis n bro..... however, after the first Christmas vj didn't want to go back with him so I had company again.............yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah.....
Well daddy is tired now...... going to spend time with mummy, she just woke up........ daddy will continue writing sometime soon... for you info...u r in mummies womb now so going to go over n kiss her tummy ok.......... yesterday u kicked my face, u naughty baby. I had my head on mummy’s tummy, singing songs to u when u kicked me....ahahahahahahaha playing soccer is it.....dun play too much ok.....need to sleep n grow into a strong baby....tc love...muacks

HOW IT ALL BEGAN
Ok baby I guess u would want to know how mummy n papa met. It’s a long story but I will tell you anyway.
Not so long ago, on a sunny island called Singapore. There lived among others 2 special ppl, Alvin and Channu.
They were leading their own lives when God decided to make them meet. Channu was still in school doing her Diploma @ Temasak Poly and Alvin had finished his studies and
Was working in the Republic of Singapore Navy.
Baby...... daddy was in NUS on 11TH Sep 2003. I had gone there to meet a friend. Unfortunately, I was late as I lost my way to NUS. The friend of mind had gone for her lesson.
Daddy parked my car and tried to find the meeting place and got lost in NUS. After walking around I decided to ask for help to find my car.
That is when daddy met mummy for the first time. Mummy was buying some bread in a nearby shop. Daddy approached mummy an asked her for directions to the car park. She gave me directions and left....her directions got me even more lost.
Hungry and tire daddy decided to take a break in a nearby canteen. I was there for 2 hours waiting for my friend to meet me. She was n class so no choice had to wait.
As I was sitting there making plans on what to do later. GOD had his own plans for me. I saw Mummy again she was about to have her lunch. I had this sudden urge to approach her. I plucked up my courage and walked towards her.
Mummy looked damn scared....me so ugly and she so pretty I felt so inferior. Than again what’s the worst thing that can happen. I told her that I was completely lost. I was tired and my wallet is in my car.
Mummy decided to help me find my car. We walked for a while which seemed like eternity. We talked about what we do n stuff like that as we walked towards the car park. I soon began to developed feelings for her but
Didn’t know what to say or do. As we reached the car park I felt like a complete idiot. The car park was behind a building that I had walked past a few times.
I didn't want to part from mummy... so I offered to send her to her office in NUS itself. Again she gave me directions and we reached her office building.
Mummy got off and I thanked her and drove off. Daddy felt that I might never get another opportunity to meet mummy again. I immediately, stopped the car and honed at mummy. She was about to enter the building, lucky me. I walked towards her an asked her will it be ok if I
Waited till she finished her work and I could send her back. I saw the consent in her eyes but need the verbal confirmation. The next one minute we did not say anything. I felt like an hour had passed n no answer from mummy. Finally, she smiled and said ok. YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH.
I parked my car and waited, growing more and more impatient.
After what seemed like forever mummy came out and we drove off. We started to talk and out of no where I played a song by Daniel Bedding field "If u're not the one".'
We quietly, listened to the song and when it was over we carried on talking till we reached her place. It was almost 7pm. I go lost as usual trying to find the right exit to her place form the highway. I believe it was GODS' work.
We said our byes and again mummy left and I felt a huge void in me. Felt like a part of me had just left me. Baby, the feeling was so overwhelming. Never felt anything like that before. Fortunately, daddy managed to get mummies’ number. hahahahahaha....... daddy at his best.
We called and talked till late n met again the next day and the next and the next and the next...I was addicted to mummy and so was she....we talked and talked watched movies. Than on the 19TH Sep 2003 we kissed. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh man! that was the best and longest kiss in my LIFE 20 min. we were tongue tied.....he he e he he hehe he.....
As sudden as it started it ended. you could hear a pin drop in the silence that followed. After awhile I asked her will you spent the rest of your Life with me. Mummy said YES. The joy that followed, I only felt it everyday since that day.
Mummy and daddy went through lots of ups and downs. We had our own issues too. WE had someone who always kept us together. GOD saw to it that his match made in heaven will remain together. After he blessed me with mummy a knew I longed for a family. He gave me Nani Nana (grandma & grandpa).
The 2 of hem made our love and life complete. They accepted me as their son-in-law. I must say I am really a blessed child of GOD. They are the best people in the world. Grandpa is the coolest dad u can ever find and Granma is the funniest and strictest person u can ever find.
I owe allot to them without their help and blessigs I would have lost everything including my LIFE. Baby remember always respect them even when they are old and start to irritate u.... cause I m on their side n will not tolerate any form of disrespect.
Anyways by the time u read all this you would know that they are a GEM.
After awhile daddy went to IRAQ for peace keeping mission. I was away for 3 months..... Ya suwar la she..... I called her one day and she sounded damn pissed. I asked her what had happened. she told me
whatever she wanted to tell me she had written it on her email. Oh man cannot explain how it felt login to my email. I thought everything was over n didn't know y. When I read the email it was not from mummy. It was from Registry of Marriages. mummy had booked our ROM.
I was so worried that she might want to break up or something. Fortunately, it was GOOD NEWS. I told a very close friend of mind Jeremy about it and he shared the happy news with me. We were at the gym than.
A year later we bought our first house in Tampines and after awhile rented it out and saved money for our wedding. Time passed us by quickly. Chandini Mosi, did very well for her PSLE and went to
Cedar Girls Secondary School. She scored 248 for PSLE. She is so clever. Well by now u would have known. She will be your tutor.
I made the biggest decision in my LIFE in end 2005. I joined the Submarine Squadron and never regretted it. I found what I had been looking for and it was there waiting for me.
Somehow I feel that I can play a part now in the DEFENCE OF MY LAND. Well another thing dun say bad things about Singapore....daddy dun like it.
Well baby u say and do what u want if we find it wrong we will correct you ok.... dun sweat it....daddy is pretty cool....just dun step on my tail.......ha ha h ah a hah ha ha.......
IN 6TH Jul 2007 mummy an I got traditionally married...yaeh.....now got license to make u. after our wedding we left for Sweden and that is where u were conceived. Everyday mummy and daddy read talk to you sing songs play music....read story book n stuff like that to you.
WE cannot wait for your arrival because we really love u n want to give u all that we can. For now that’s all daddy is going to tell you, mummy calling me already gtg. muacks...............

FRUIT FOR THOUGHT
Two men, both seriously ill, occupied the same hospital room. One man was allowed to sit up in his bed for an hour each afternoon to help drain the fluid from his lungs. His bed was next to the room's only window. The other man had to spend all his time flat on his back. The men talked for hours on end. They spoke of their wives and families, their homes, their jobs, their involvement in the military service, where they had been on vacation. Every afternoon, when the man in the bed by the window could sit up, he would pass the time by describing to his roommate all the things he could see outside the window. The man in the other bed began to live for those one hour periods where his world would be broadened and enlivened by all the activity and color of the world outside. The window overlooked a park with a lovely lake. Ducks and swans played on the water while children sailed their model boats. Young lovers walked arm in arm amidst flowers of every color and a fine view of the city skyline could be seen in the distance. As the man by the window described all this in exquisite details, the man on the other side of the room would close his eyes and imagine this picturesque scene. One warm afternoon, the man by the window described a parade passing by. Although the other man could not hear the band - he could see it in his mind's eye as the gentleman by the window portrayed it with descriptive words. Days, weeks and months passed. One morning, the day nurse arrived to bring water for their baths only to find the lifeless body of the man by the window, who had died peacefully in his sleep. She was saddened and called the hospital attendants to take the body away. As soon as it seemed appropriate, the other man asked if he could be moved next to the window. The nurse was happy to make the switch, and after making sure he was comfortable, she left him alone. Slowly, painfully, he propped himself up on one elbow to take his first look at the real world outside. He strained to slowly turn to look out the window besides the bed. It faced a blank wall. The man asked the nurse what could have compelled his deceased roommate who had described such wonderful things outside this window. The nurse responded that the man was blind and could not even see the wall. She said, 'Perhaps he just wanted to encourage you.' Epilogue: There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations. Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness when shared, is doubled. If you want to feel rich, just count all the things you have that money can't buy. 'Today is a gift, that is why it is called The Present.'
